The exhibition will present works from the project “Prologue” which was carried out as an announcement of the congress ShortCut Europe 2011 held in Warsaw between 16th and 18th of November. His project is a continuation of a 5-year ethnographic researches and animation projects carried out by students, animators and artists in Ostałówek and Broniów near Szydłowiec (area of the high, rural unemployment). Its main research question was: how the social/artistic actions stimulate the local potential of cultural creativity? The project combined ethnographic researches dedicated to working there non-formal activists, social activists and self-organised groups and series of animation and artistic events. The long-term effect of the actions led by artists, educators and cultural animators is both documentary of the implemented projects and works are the aftermath of these actions.

Within the exhibition we would like to invite to watch a streaming of pictures prepared by Dorota and Paweł Ogrodzki, which is a record of meetings with Broniów and Ostałówek inhabitants, it describes all the projects carried out by animators and artists, its dynamics and merging. We will present Elżbieta Jabłońska’s film “Nutritional Substance” talking about rural flavours and describing women’s space in both villages, and Łukasz Skąpski film presenting extraordinary machines constructors. In the space of Kordegarda Gallery we will show also the idea of „Broniów sociological thought”, prepared by Tomasz Rakowski. The tractors in video installation of Wojtek Ziemilski will rise from the fallow land into heaven, the Saints of Broniów and Ostałówek will made themselves at home within the golden frame – the image of road and conversations, that was conducted by Agata Pietrzyk. Aleksandar Cirlić invites to the „Larch” Cinema which became the next meeting point with people and atmosphere of these villages; in the background we will hear the sounds and songs of Broniów, preserved by Piotr Cichocki. Stop Broniów, stop Ostałówek. Welcome!
